MICHELE ROLLINS: 
CREATING A PARADISE IN JAMAICA

The developer of what is arguably the most beautiful beachfront in the Caribbean is not who you’d expect.  First of all, Michele Rollins is beautiful and she is an attorney.  From being Miss USA-World at 18 years of age and a high ranking government official in her twenties, through a life as the wife of the late Delaware entrepreneur John Rollins and a mother of their four children, she is managing the transition of a 18th Century sugar plantation into a contemporary vacation paradise.

Raised in a family which believed in noblesse oblige – giving back – Michele has long been involved with such charities as Horatio Alger, the Ministry of Caring, Catholic Charities, and many small community betterment projects in the area her husband bought in 42 years ago.

Michele and John Rollins restored the 1760 Rose Hall Great House to its original splendor, now a Jamaican national monument.  Their resort development has created over 10,000 plus jobs, a fact about which she is justifiably proud.  The Rose Hall resort is home to the 5-Star Ritz-Carlton Golf and Spa Resort, and its awesome White Witch Golf Course; the Wyndham Rose Hall resort and its oceanfront Cinnamon Hill Golf course; and the amenities you would expect at a first-class resort:  spa, tennis, beaches, shopping.

Her current interest is in carving out a small enclave of home sites directly on the beach, not far from the Ritz-Carlton.  She plans to offer the sites, averaging a half-acre each, in the one to two million dollar range.
